1. DESCRIPTION OF TECHNIQUES, METHODS AND EQUIPMENT
Silk is dyed with the same dyes as wool, excluding 1:1 metal complex dyes. In addition, direct dyes can be used. The dyeing pH is slightly higher than with wool. For reactive dyeing 20-60 g/l of salt and 2-5 g/l of soda ash is needed for fixation [294, ETAD, 2001].
